King's Court Gowns, LLC, was founded as an in-home business in response to today's economic climate. The owners, DeeDee Jones and Gwendolyn Blessing, wanted to open a small business, but found the overhead and operating costs of running a retail store went against the very thing they were trying to accomplish. To offer these beautiful gowns at a price affordable enough for the average consumer, they were going to have to create a new business plan. Starting a home-based business seemed the best way to avoid the normal operating costs of business, while still maintaining the overall idea of the business they had in mind. Not needing to pay for a rental space, on-site utilities such as phone and internet, sky rocketing credit card machine rates, etc., allows them to offer their merchandise at a much lower cost than other stores.
The idea evolved from a desire to offer beautiful ball gowns that every woman could enjoy and afford. Department stores offer very little selection, sell too many of the same gown and don't offer a large variety of sizes. Boutiques have more selection and sizes, but their prices are so high that the average customer can't afford to shop there. Both, offer only off-the-rack choices to women who may not be of average height or size. King's Court Gowns caters to all women who want to feel like a princess for a day.
ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS
All of our gowns are hand-made; that means when we ordered our inventory, we had to supply the exact measurements for bust, waist, hip and length (shoulder to ground with shoes on), for each gown. Every manufacturer, designer and department store has some form of unified sizing and we have developed one as well. The following chart shows the exact measurements of the dresses we carry in stock in the showroom, however, we can custom make any of our gowns to your exact measurements for a nominal fee of only $40 for full length and $20 for cocktail length. The pictures below show how to accurately take your measurements so that you can determine your size according to our chart.

You can inquire about a specific gown in a specific size by using the contact form on the Contact Us page. If you live near Polk County in Florida, you can call (863) 667-8456 to set up a private appointment to try on our gowns. If you would like to custom order one of our gowns, you can do so in person or email us at sales@kingscourtgowns.com. We do sell gowns over the internet as well. You will just need to fill out the contact form on the Contact Us page of this website and let us know which gown you are interested in. We will email you back with exactly which measurements we will need from you to custom make your gown. Custom orders take about 8 weeks, but can be expedited for an additional fee (see chart below). If you're in the area and want to custom order a gown from us, please call to set up an appointment and we will take all your measurements for you. All gowns are non-refundable, so make sure you know your correct size before ordering. Our goal is make you feel like a princess on your special day, and these hand-made ball gowns will do just that.
